Connect Microsoft 365

The Microsoft 365 template covers mail, calendar, Teams, and SharePoint through Microsoft's MCP tooling. It is a guided setup: most of the work happens in your Microsoft tenant, not in Harriet.

What you need

Install the connector

  1. Open Connectors. Then select Add connector to open the catalog.
  2. Pick the Microsoft 365 card. It carries a Guided badge: installing creates a placeholder integration that you complete outside Harriet first.
  3. Optionally add notes. The single field, Tenant / rollout notes, stores optional notes for your team on the integration.
  4. Select Install Microsoft 365. The placeholder connector appears on the Connectors screen with the reminder to complete tenant setup per Microsoft docs.
  5. Complete setup in your tenant. Your Microsoft admin follows Microsoft's documentation to enable the MCP tooling and obtain the server endpoint for your tenant.
  6. Set the MCP server URL. Open the connector in Integration settings and update the MCP server URL to the endpoint your admin provides. From this point the connector behaves like any other hosted connector.
⚠️

The connector does nothing until step 6. It ships pointing at Microsoft's documentation as a placeholder, and no tools appear until the MCP server URL is replaced with your tenant's real endpoint. Budget for the tenant admin steps and licensing before promising this to a team.

Authorize

The template is marked for per-user OAuth: once your tenant endpoint is configured, each person connects their Microsoft account under Profile → Integrations before tools can run for them. See per-user OAuth connections. The exact consent experience depends on how your tenant is configured, so follow your organization's IT guidance.

Tools you get

Tools depend entirely on the endpoint your tenant exposes; Harriet syncs whatever the server offers once the URL is set. The catalog scopes this template to mail, calendar, Teams, and SharePoint. The starter skill is deliberately cautious: it tells the model that Microsoft 365 tools require tenant-specific configuration and to follow org IT guidance before invoking them.

This connector is separate from Harriet's SharePoint content sync, which copies files from SharePoint sites into Harriet's knowledge rather than exposing tools to skills.

Try it

After tenant setup completes and a person has connected, ask a skill: "Summarize the unread mail from my manager this week and list any meetings it mentions."
