How much does Claude Enterprise cost?
Claude Enterprise costs $20 per seat a month, billed annually, plus usage. That is the published figure on Anthropic’s pricing page as of September 2026. The seat fee buys the enterprise controls: SSO and SCIM, role-based permissions, audit logs, the Compliance API, custom data retention, IP allowlisting and admin-set spend limits. Every token your people use in Chat, Claude Code or Cowork is then billed on top at standard API rates, so the seat fee is the floor of the bill and usage is the part that moves. The minimum is 20 seats if you buy self-serve or 50 through sales, which puts the entry point at $400 a month in seat fees before anyone sends a message. Claude Team, by contrast, is a flat $20 to $25 a seat with usage included, from 2 to 150 seats, on monthly or annual billing.

When Claude Enterprise is worth the price

The Claude Enterprise alternative- You need Anthropic’s compliance surface. The Compliance API, customer-managed keys or the HIPAA-ready offering live only inside Claude Enterprise. If one of those is a hard requirement, buy direct.
- You want one vendor on purpose. Standardising the whole company on Claude for a year is a deliberate strategy, and you are large enough that custom terms with Anthropic matter more than flexibility.

Yes, the seat fee is. That is unusual: OpenAI does not publish ChatGPT Enterprise pricing at all and sells it through sales on annual contracts, with third-party reports putting it around $45 to $75 per user a month. What Anthropic does not publish is what your usage will come to, because that depends on which models your people use and how much.
What is the minimum number of seats for Claude Enterprise?

How is usage billed on Claude Enterprise?
Every token in Chat, Claude Code or Cowork is billed at Anthropic’s standard API rates on top of the seat fee. Admins can set spend limits per user and for the organisation. In practice a handful of heavy users, and the model they default to, decide most of the usage line.
Is Claude Enterprise cheaper than Claude Team?
Per seat, they start at the same $20 a month on annual billing, but Team includes usage in the seat price and Enterprise meters it. For a team of light users Team is cheaper; for heavy users on Team you buy premium seats at $100 a month, and on Enterprise you pay the API bill. The reason to move is usually the 150-seat cap or the security review, not price.

On published numbers Claude Enterprise is the cheaper entry: $20 a seat a month plus usage, from 20 seats. OpenAI does not publish ChatGPT Enterprise pricing; third-party reports put it at $45 to $75 per user a month with seat minimums around 150, on annual contracts. Per-seat price is only half the bill on either platform.
