HR
How do we publish different policies for different countries or teams?
Publish separate knowledge documents with the right groups and geography metadata for each audience.

- hr
Multi-country companies need different answers for the same topic. Harriet works best when each variant is a clear, scoped document.
Publish one variant per jurisdiction or population
- Create separate knowledge files for materially different rules.
- In each file, state who it applies to in the first paragraph (“Applies to employees in Japan…”).
Restrict access when needed
- Use user groups so only the intended audience can see sensitive documents in search.
- Work with IT to set country or region metadata so local content is preferred for local employees.
Example
You maintain UK parental leave and US parental leave as two documents, each tagged and grouped appropriately. A UK employee asking about leave gets the UK article; US employees get the US article.
Guardrails
- Avoid copying legal text between countries without review—small wording differences matter.
- Test with a pilot user in each region after publishing.
